Barry's drug of choice

Ben dropped me off at a Roadhouse on the Barkley highway. I stayed overnight and in the morning hitched a ride with Barry, a truck driver on his way to Catherine.

He was an addict. But, unlike some of his friends, the drug he used to stay awake on long journeys was not amphetamines. It was audio books.

He loves them, "reads" two a week, he says - from War and Peace to John Grisham to Kokoda. It doesn't matter the theme, as long as there's a story to hear...

Barry, single-handedly changing your preconceptions about truck drivers since 2010...
